Silverleaf was bought out by Orange Lake timeshare out of Orlando. They are part of Holiday Club Vacations, a worldwide resort sharing institution. I had been an owner of Silverleaf resort in Mo. since the 90's. After ownership changed as mentioned above, they invited me to a presentation near Houston, Tx, to become a member of Holiday Club Vacations. What they told me was that I was trading in my week in Mo. for an all access membership to Holiday Club Vacations with a lot of perks. But, of course, this came with a yearly maintenance fee and I had to pay more money besides the week that I was giving them back, but it sounded good and it was worth it. I spent 6 hours in their office making sure that I understood I was getting, etc., and what I owed them. They lied through their teeth!. They neglected to tell me that I RETAINED the week in Mo., which I didnt want to do. After I paid several thousand dollars for several months for the Holiday Club Vacation membership, they started calling me requesting the maintenance fees for the Mo. timeshare! After arguing with them for 6 more months, asking to speak to the owner of the company, getting the run around, and eventually being forwarded back to the office in Houston, they refused to give me any of my money back or work with me in any way. After months and months of telephone calls where they wanted more money, I told them repeatedly that they had stolen from me! This is the end of my dealings with Silverleaf/Orange Lake/Holiday Club! I lost my original timeshare and lost about 5K in addition to that! My advice-if either of these companies contact you, RUN! User's recommendation: If any of these companies contact you, RUN! Silverleaf is no longer owned by people with moral standards who keep their word!
