Update by user May 29, 2021 As of May 29th, they finally applied the pay off check to my account but I'm still waiting for the over paid check. My account was updated as paid in full on 5/5. I will look for a lawyer if I don't receive it within next 2 weeks or so. Original review posted by user Apr 29, 2021 I have purchased a new 2018 Tucson from a local dealer in 2018 and sold the vehicle to Carvana in March 2021. Carvana sent a pay off check to Hyundai Motor Finance on 3/24 and the check was cleared (cashed out) on 3/29 but it was never applied to my account to this date. I have called HMF a total of 5 times to get this resolved. The first time, they requested the check number, amount, and a copy of check back and front. I got them the information they requested. My account has not been updated to this day (4/29). I spoke with a total of 3 escalation point managers. The first manager that I spoke to on 4/19 was able to locate the check and requested it to be applied to my account because she found the check was applied to a non-existing account that was one number away from my account. She issued a ticket to correct the error but it was not solved. I called them again on 4/28 to repeat the exact same info over and over again. They started calling me two times daily to tell me that I'm behind on the payment and charged me a late fee. I made one extra payment on the loan to just avoid all the hassles. They currently have the fund and still hasn't applied it to my account and I'm about to be forced to pay the second extra payment to prevent paying another late fee and being forwarded to a collection agency as they told me that they send it over to a collection agency once late payment is older than 30 days. I spoke with Carvana and they provided all the information that was related to the transaction and the account number on that check was correct. HMF made a mistake and hasn't admitted the mistake and instead they charged me a late fee. There was absolutely no way that I could speak with someone who had information related to my account whenever I made phone calls. I had to go through from the CS person and asked to escalate the situation up as their ability to research the check was limited and was not able to solve the issue. I had to spend at least one hour each and every time I called them to get to someone who could even search what has been going on with my account. This company's customer service system was just a nightmare lacking communication within their system and the inconvenience falls on the customers. My personal note to the company - I have purchased a total of 5 new Hyundai vehicles in the past 10 years and will never User's recommendation: Get a loan from somewhere else if you must buy a car from Hyundai.
