they charged us for a service never used for 9 years

In 2008, we established a banking relationship with PNC. We discussed many products for our business. The sales person and I call them sales people because banking has become a sales oriented business verses a service business. The asked if we want a check deposit machine. At the time, we said that we did not think we needed one. The Sales Person said, well lets get you to sign and when you are ready we can turn on and send out the equipment. For years and years they charged us $50.00 a month. When I inquired about this $50 a month fee, I was told it was our monthly checking account fee. It was not until January this year that I went into a branch and got to speak to the branch manger that she said this was not a monthly fee but a check deposit fee. I went on to explain that we have never used a machine, in fact if PNC goes back they will see that all deposits were made through either the ATM or teller and never through a machine. Long story short, we paid $5, 400 for a machine we never used and never had. PNC after complaining to the OCC gave is back $2, 200 as a "good will". What a joke, they clearly charged us for a service for years, their staff is so sales focused they don't even know what products they have and they not care about service only about sales goals.
