The worst experience of my life! Discriminated against because of injury

1

I went to Thailand with my husbands family for Christmas. Getting there we had no issues. But on the trip my husband and I got into a moped accident. I had to spend a couple of days in the hospital in Thailand. I had broken my right wrist and had a cast in my left leg for extensive tissue damage. The hospital wrote a clear to fly note for me as well as needed accommodations such as upgrading my seat to business class due to needing to elevate my leg and having contusions all over my body. They also said I’d need a family escort. When we got the the airport in Shanghai they had taken the wheelchair I was using and had one from the airport. The worker was the only one allowed to push me. And he pushed me to a certain spot. Had me sit on their benches, gave my husband paperwork to get a wheelchair to board and then left with the wheelchair! We had a 6 hr layover... and I was robbed of the best way for me to get around. At some point I had to use the restroom... but I was too far way to crutch there. So my husband went to ask for a wheelchair... he had to talk to SIX people just to get me a wheelchair for the bathroom. The bathroom had no handicap bathroom and it was an ordeal to go. Then when it was time for my flight I was lucky to be able to get a wheelchair but they took me down weird passages where no one else could see me. Then all other wheelchair passengers cane to that same area. When we were getting our boarding passes we tried to upgrade my seat and we were told there were no available seats. When they wheeled me to the “handicapped “ spot I asked again and again telling them I can’t bend my leg and need business class. I showed the doctor note and again was told it was full. I was becoming very anxious to go on such a long flight and having to endure the pain. As they wheeled me to the plane I again asked and had my husband ask... the seats they tried to give us were in the very back by the window... I can’t get to the window seat... and I can’t go that far back... I need to elevate my leg. I was confident that when I boarded someone in business class would see my condition and offer their seat... I was going to ask. We were the last ones boarding the plane... they finally agreed to move my seat to front row economy so I could prop up my leg. When I boarded and began to go back I counted THREE empty seats in business class!!!!!!!! I had been continually lied to!!! I told the man there are three seats!! Let me sit here! We will pay! They kept telling new”no” I showed them doctors note which said I should not fly in a regular seat that it was marked for business. They would not let me. So in tears and anger I sat on my seat. Thinking once that man leaves we can try again. We asked again and got another no. It wasn’t until two doctors behind me from the states told the flight attendants to get us things to prop my leg up that they finally did. On that flight I learned the “pain meds” I was given from the hospital was just Tylenol so I had nothing to combat the pain really. Having been abused in childhood the trauma from my past surfaced from being triggered on the flight. I disassociated as my way of coping with the pain.... but my mind became very dark on the flight. I haven’t tried to hurt myself in over 2 years and haven’t been suicidal in the same amount of time yet I found myself having suicide ideation if opening the door and jumping out ir using a blanket to choke me. I went to the restroom and tried to get staples out of my crutches to hurt myself. I fount I clip on a wrap of mine that was a little sharp and used that but couldn’t get it to cut me. I told my husband that I think I should leave him and gave him my ring back... He was patient and tried to do his best to help me. By the end of the flight he got me to agree not to leave him. Once we landed in LA I was beyond exhausted and my mind went through *** and my body did. The picture they took of me in LAX didn’t even look like me.., I could barely recognize myself. I want to sue them but don’t have money to and wonder if I even can because they are based in China. Don’t use this airline. Don’t give to some company that will treat someone this way... I didn’t think I’d get hurt on my trip... but I did and I suffered terribly... no one plans to get in an accident... if you do this airline will allow you to suffer. They discriminate even to temporarily handicapped.
