The Medical Board protects doctors, not patients.

1

The medical board investigated the complaint I filed against the surgeon who erred in my husband's surgery. The errors caused his death. This was a simple gall bladder removal procedure. The board issued a disciplinary sanction, fined her $3000 and ordered her to complete 24 hours of further education. She completed the education in 6 weeks and paid the fine. Not appropriate for taking someone's life. The sanction appears on her medical license. The board did not even have the courtesy to notify me of their findings, I just kept checking her license to find the outcome of their investigation and litigation. simply had to keep checking her license for the outcome. style="background-color: User's recommendation: Always check a doctor's license on TMB website. Read any documents regarding sanctions and know that the board will do as little as possible to protect patients. At least they issue sanctions and we can chose not to use a doctor who's record includes a sanction(s).
