Terrible technical customer support

I have an Atwood Water heater on my boat. The water is heated by 110V electricity when we are connected to shore power. When we are traveling on the boat, the water is heated by hoses that bring hot coolant from the diesel motor to the water heater. For years this has worked great. However, recently the water from the engine has not heated the water. I called to ask for help diagnosing the problem and obtain recommendations of what to do to rectify the problem. I talked to a customer service representative who told me that the unit was no longer sold and that due to liability issues he could not help me diagnose the problem nor give me any recommendations. He simply told me to hire a licensed technician. I asked him to describe what the interior of the water tank looked like so I could understand how the coolant heated the water. I wanted to know if I could flush the system, thinking there might be a blockage. I asked for a diagram. No matter what I asked for he told me he could not give me any product information. I felt I was talking to a company that does not stand behind their products, is more worried about what the lawyers would say rather than helping their customers and that he was reading a pre-prepared script from the legal department saying basically; "I don't care about your, product issue … all I want is to have no legal liability." I will never buy an Atwood product again.
