Terrible in store customer service

I was at store # 06105 last night 8/2/18 at 8:23 p.m. associate #00212****; the sales associate failed to give me a bag that had birthday gifts in it that I paid for. As the items were in her control I had no idea she did not give me those items in the bag I did receive which by the way had plenty of room for these other 2 items. I live in the mountains over an hour from the store and will not be returning there for sometime. I called the store this morning and after speaking with two individuals and getting the manager's excuses of why they could not either mail the items to me or return my money until next week, I agreed to wait until next week to get the items as I do not care to have my money refunded through a gift card. As I mentioned, these are a gift for a birthday this weekend and the delay in receiving the items will put it past their purpose. I will have to shop locally and purchase new items at an additional expense. This type of customer service is unacceptable in today's market. The manager suggested that because they don't usually have this issue they have no policy in place to address it. I went to the store and paid for my purchase immediately so it is very disappointing that your company punishes the customer for their own mistakes. I will not shop at Gordmans again and will post my experience on all forums so others can avoid this inconvenience as well. I have never had any issues at Burlington and will continue to support and refer them instead.
