Terrible billing practices

After not using my Fitness Connection membership for over 2 years, I wanted to cancel my membership, and was surprised to find I had a large balance owing on my account even though they debited my account each month. I discovered that when my debit card number had changed, my payments were not being made but no one at Fitness Connection ever attempted to contact me even though they had multiple ways to reach me on file. When I realized, I went to the gym in person to bring my account up to date and cancel my membership. I paid the amount they said I owed in full and was told to expect 2 more monthly payments of 9.73 to come out of my account to fulfill the 2 month cancellation fee in my original contract. In the 2 weeks since, they have pulled more than $100 from my account citing additional membership fees, late fees, and member dues. I have tried to resolve this in person with gym management as well as the Fitness Connection billing department without receiving a reasonable explanation. Not sure when this will end!
