I have purchased more than a dozen properties over the past 45 years, and loan Depot is without a doubt the worst experince I have ever had. I was doing a simple refinance on my residence. My credit score is 780, I owe $7,000 on my mortgage on a home that was appraised by the VA at $335,000, this was a simple refi, involving no one but me, no leans ,no attachments, I have owned the home for 30 years. very Simple. I started the process with them on May 13, 2019. I uploaded to them every document they required within 30 minutes of application. I waited a week with no contact, then called them. I got an answering machine that said "I'm away from phone our out of office I will be sure to return your call by end of business today." I called the next day and same message. I called her suppervisor, same message. I sent emails and messages on thier website and called every number they had. Called again the third day same message. Finally the afternoon of the third day I got a call and she said she didn't know anything and she would let me know when she found out. This has been the norm since this started 3 months ago. Finally on Thursday last week August 1, 2019 They had everything they needed and and all approvals needed I asked when we could close. I was told they would let me know. I called Monday, no answer, called Tuesday no answer, called every number they had and left emails and message on ther site. finally got a call back from my loan officer and she said she had no idea when it would close but she would let me know. This was suppose to close over a moth ago, the rate lock has been extended 3 times. From reading the 67% One Star ratings, I would say everyone of them is pretty damn accurate and reflect my experience. After reading the 5 star ratings, I would say that every one of them is a fake review, they all sound the same. When I checked Loan Depot ratings on several sites, they were highly rated. Now it looks like it was all *** Be warned and avoid this outfit whatever you do.
