Sweeper

I have a dirt devil endurance max xl model # UD70182.....problem: while sweeper is turned off and stationary the handle remains locked in...however when it is being used the handle pops out....very annoying... help please and thank you.... User's recommendation: If there is a problem just message dirt devil.
