This is about A Storage Depot of Primos, PA. When you first enter the office to request storage, the process is easy. Easy In. However, the process of getting out of your unit is tricky. It is "tricky" by design. The operators of this business have strategies in place to keep you renting the unit and paying them money. Here is how it goes.... They prorate you IN. Easy. You usually pay less than $50.00 bucks to move in. (depends on what day of the month you start). They have a "30 day notice" rule for move-outs. Unrealistic. Who in today's busy world know 30 days in advance when they will move out. Especially in a hurry. or under stressful circumstances. So you miss the 30 day notice requirement and they give you grief about it. So you pay another month. Then they tell you "You have another month keep storing." So, you go about your business and when you approach them again they say" We need 30days notice". So there is always overlap. -And that is what they count on - either the "30day rule" or the "Its time for you to pay again." You can't move out yet. And then when its time to move out. They say "30 days notice". So, finally you catch on and remind them that you where ready to move out a month ago, before they distracted you with first one policy and then the other. So, you pin them down and tell them you want OUT! Other problem, .. the facility has a vector problem (rodents). Droppings are over the place. The hand you these packs of poison to wedge into the door of your unit. (Best to cover everything completely. Even better to not rent a storage unit there). Also, they were investigated about a year ago for suspicious auction practices. (It appeared that they had some "insider bidding" going on.) The manager, I'm told, stopped the bids before any REAL bidders/customers could place a bid or buy anything. real shoddy. Scary lady runs the place. seems a bit paranoid.. "Rose" is her name. Best to stay away from ALL of these locations.
