Stopped in for an alignment inspection and adjustment. Scam!

1

Called ahead to schedule an inspection and front end alignment for my 2003 Ford Ranger. Was told that they could get me in right away. " Technicians standing around wishing for something to do." Droves straight there, checked in and sat down to wait. Less than 5 minutes later, I was called to the desk and told I needed new upper, lower ball joints and upper control arm. I was informed that the tire was showing signs of wear and would only get worse if I didn't have the work done. Additionally, the ball joints could fail any minute and were rusted solid. The repair, for one side, was over $1000.00. The tires were purchased new the day before, from a competitor and had 12 miles on them. The ball joints were inspected at that time and it was recommended I have the alignment done to improve the tire life. I passed on the repair and went back to where I bought the tires. There was no visible signs of wear and the ball joints were now covered in what was assumed to be WD40. The truck handles fine. I'm getting another opinion from a reputable company that has taken care of all my vehicles for over 30 years. I went to Belle for the first and last time today. Never again!
