Stop and Shop truck hit our car

My wife stopped on a narrow road to let a stop and shop truck pass. The truck sideswiped our car and did not stop even aftee my wife beeped the horn. She called Greenwich CT police who came and opened a case. The damages to the car amount to $1200. User's recommendation: Try multiple ways to reach stop and shop.
