My Quickbooks file suddenly stopped opening. With the thought of losing nearly 9 years of accounting data I turned to data recovery products. I tried the demo version of Stellar Phoenix Recovery for QuickBooks which indicated it should be able to recover my critical Customer, Vendor, Employee and Invoice data. I proceeded with a full version purchase, relieved with the idea my data would soon be the way it was before the corruption. After purchase I went through the recovery process which indicated the same as I had seen in the demo version. After the recovery process had completed, I opened the file to find I could see none of my Customer, Vendor, Employee or Invoice data despite the recovery process reporting it had recovered data from each. I attempted to engage Stellar support, who initially sent me down a line of questioning for SQL data recover which had nothing to do with it. Subsequent correspondence was lethargic at best and they never seemed to fully grasp the issue at hand to acknowledge there may be a software bug. In that light: if there is no software bug you will not be considered for a refund even if their demo version AND their purchased version indicates it recovers data it clearly does not. I had several back and forth e-mails respectfully requesting a refund after feeling I had been taken advantage of and every reply was that I didn't meet the criteria to be considered for a refund. Seriously- don't waste your time. Stellar doesn't care about the quality of their software or the relationship with their customer. Nor do they have any sympathy they are dealing with your companies most sensitive data.
