OptumRx is the worst company imaginable, I can’t believe it’s still in business. If you need a brand rx, best of luck. My husband’s company turned us over to these people, and it’s been hellacious. They spend up to 2 weeks asking for prior authorizations, and repeatedly deny them. The only explanation is “talk to your Dr’s. office.” Meanwhile, your Dr. has now spent his time and resources answering these multiple PA’s, and then appealing them. It’s a matter of time until my Dr’s. aren’t going to put up with this anymore. Then, after 3 strikes, you get a nice letter in the mail. Now they’re playing Dr. and have decided what (generic) med you will try instead, until you suffer side effects that are, in their opinion, unreasonable. My meds carefully control my seizures and migraines, and it is a balancing act that has taken years- bad experiences with some, and some bad side effects, to perfect, seamlessly for the past 17 years. God help me now, I fear for my life. We all should be worried with this company. OptumRx is a sleazy, uncaring getup that has no business managing people’s health.
