Received a premium notice for a policy my wife and I have on our Son. The Policy is broken into two certificate Numbers one is for critical Illness and one is for Accident. The Amount due on critical illness is $19.68. The amount due to Accident is $12.88. According to the premium notice, each certificate is valid for one month. So I call the number on the premium. They can't find anything under either certificate number. So I call the local Allstate agent here in Des Moines (Timothy Brehn) and his girlfriend answeres...she can't find anything either. Now they ask for my son's SSN (last 4) (for security reasons). Since when is the PSTN a secure method of sending and receiving information? Answer: Never...its never been a secure method of doing anything.. Don't believe me? Ask all the "ethical Hackers" that work for the US Government. They will confirm this. So I don't have his last 4..(he's thirty years old) I haven't seen his SSN in eons...Well...thats all they can do...(for security reasons)...I really glad this wasn't a life insurance policy that I was trying to coordinate. They couldn't find anything even with their own Certificate Numbers. So I called my Son and got his last 4 over the PSTN (telephone system). I got his last 4 and called back. They couldn't give me the information I needed because I'm not the primary account holder...(just his Dad). What a fly by night organization they've become! Glad this wasn't a life insurance policy... Garbage, Trash, consumer rip off....thats what come to mind.
