I have been taking my dogs to Stack Vet Hospital for many years. It used to be that they cared for animals. NOT ANYMORE! Seems all they care about now is how much money they can suck out of you. We took our dogs in for a skin rash a while back. They perscribed a shampoo for us and it worked well. Now our dog has this issue again, so I went over to the vet to see if I could buy another bottle of the shampoo. They would not sell me a bottle unless we brought the dog in for an exam. They charge you $60 now instead of the $30 that it used to be just to walk in the door, and anything other than the dog being weighed is going to cost you extra. Well we explained that we couldn't afford to bring the dog in and they said, "well, too bad, we can't give you the shampoo without seeing the dog first". This would have been $60 + the cost of the shampoo which is $30 at the least. So we were looking at $90 to get a bottle of shampoo. I went to another vet who said go on line and order the shampoo. If needed, give them our name if an Rx is needed and we will perscribe it for you. Well come to find out that an Rx is not even needed for this shampoo!! If this isn't proof that Stack Vet hospital is just out to soak as much money out of you as possible I don't know what is. I even brought in the old shampoo bottle, so there's no mistake in what I was asking for. These people couldn't care less about the well being of your pets. They show absolutely no desire to try to help you if you can't afford their ridiculous prices. We found another caring vet right around the corner who was willing to help us get the care we needed for our dog, and didn't ask for a penny! Unless you have money to absolutely waste, avoid Stack Vet hospital at all cost. There are many other vets in the Syracuse area that actually care about the animals and have fair prices.
