The adolecent mental hospital in Bedford, Texas has been more hurtful than helpful to my 16yr old son. He has Asperger's(mild autism) as well as Bipolar disorder. His meds. were out of whack and needed adjustment. He is a sweetheart of a kid who walks to the beat of a different drum. Most adults love him but some peers don't. He's kind and would never be mean to anyone. Anyway, I found out Friday that some of the kids were being cruel to him. The nurses and staff knew and told us the problems would be taken care of. one girl was the worst, telling my son she'd hurt him. Sat night things got worse and the girl threatened to kill my son when she got out of jail. Sun. my son told me how scared and unsafe he felt. I told the girl to leave him alone and she cussed me out. They made me leave and said nothing to the girls. I tried to get him out but they said the Dr won't release him or separate the girl from him. I'm so worried for him!!
