I have experienced about 6 years of valet trash and can only give a very poor rating of the company! Their employees are probably paid less than minimum wage but they have been told they do not have to pick up bags that weigh over ....25 pounds! If I have gotten one of these hang notes on my door, I have had about 50! I am single 62 year old female that has had shoulder surgery. I cannot even lift a 25 lb bag of trash! So, I guess they carry scales around to use their time weighing trash! They are nasty and messy. If a bag rips open, they do NOT even bother to pick it up. I actually had one collector outside my door cursing and throwing cans in the breezeway! My next door neighbor had left 3 bags! God forbid if you leave more than 2! It is a mandatory service with most apartments these days and should NEVER be forced on residents. It is a disservice to the tenants. But it is contracted for a dual purpose...to make the property money AND make valet trash richer than God. It is expensive...35-40$ per apartment! The complex I am in has 250 apartments! Plus they take so many holidays! Workers don't get paid so I know they have it rough. But the owners always get their share, even if it is a holiday. This should be illegal to DEMAND tenants retain this service. If you are looking to rent, always ask if they make you sign up for valet trash. If they confirm, just walk out. If not, you will have roaches galore and less in your bank account!
