Service for uses overseas is the worst
I am an American expat leaving in Europe- age 75.. A forgotton ID or password will lead to years of frusration trying to prove you are you. This is my experiece. I have a very small annunity and just getting my yearly approx. 200.00 dollars (that's two hundred) has been ridiculous- one catch 22 after the other. One year I say my favorite teacher is Mrs. S... and ten years later I have forgotten what I said and can't find where I wrote it down. Having moved about the world 6 or 7 times does not help. Too many teachers, too many phone numbers, too many addresses, old person's memony.... all these unluckily come together. Plus I have 3 different 401s rfom different employers. Pissed does not say enough- plus I have attention deficicnecy disorder which comes back a bit stronger as one gets older. I have had trouble with TIAA cref and one mass mutal account from MML Investors Services which used to be called something else particularly. I actally was able to get a New York annuity refund for a small amount but that was before 2009. I simply can never log on to these accounts. I never get a new password. I seem to be on an identifaction black list- but truly I am who I say I am and have a SSN to prove it. I do phone the US when necess ary- naturally the 800 numbers are not free from EU countries.
