I called Cigna Dental in the Fall to see if I could enhance my coverage. They told me I had to wait until the end of the policy. The policy ended in March, but I was still active and continued to receive bills. I called to discuss renewal options and to enhance the policy, but was told I missed the renewal period and to "plan better next year". I missed the renewal window by five days. I did not understand how it worked and was given the run around by the call center team. I've been with Cigna for several years and rather than trying to really help me they gave me excuses. In order to truly take advantage of what Cigna has to offer in the way of dental, you really have to plan accordingly, but I would have liked to have been given some leeway as a loyal customer rather than having them just cancel my policy. They did not even try to help me. Very disappointed. I would not recommend Cigna Dental. User's recommendation: Determine your dental needs well in advance. Make sure to update your dental plan as far in advance as possible and understand the dates surrounding your renewal period cause that's how they get you.
