SCAM money stolen

1

I paid an annual fee of $99 for a subscription to vacationcenterdeal.com in hopes of getting a vacation at a discounted rate. After signing up to the travel club, and a delay on my booking request, they had me fill out a credit card authorization form to pay for the resort booking I was looking to get for several hundred dollars. Once I completed this form, they told me it was only to keep on file and I would have to submit my payment via PayPal, which I did. They sent me an invoice with a "reservation confirmation number". Later, they emailed me, telling me I would have to wait for the resort to send me a confirmation between some 14 odd days or so. I never received the confirmation from the resort. I called the resort to check on the booking as I had already bought plane tickets to the location. The resort told me to contact the seller. I once again contacted vacationcenterdeal.com, via email as it is their only means of communication for some odd reason. They tell me they are only open on Thursdays and get to member emails as soon as they can. They stated the resort reservation was put in and that I had my reservation number, the number which was of no use to resort when I called them personally. Again vacationcenter is telling me to keep waiting as they apparently contacted a third party seller about the booking, and for me to wait another 24-48 hours for the resort to contact me via email, mind you I am about to travel to the location in 48 hours. I never got any confirmation from the resort during those 48 hours; and I even called again the day prior to me traveling to this area as I had ALREADY bought plane tickets. I ended up having to stay at another resort, spending much more money than I had originally intended. I emailed vacationcenter during this time to let them know I never got the reservation to the original resort. I got no response during that week, expecting something on that Thursday, being that they stated they are only open on those days. Finally, I emailed them again a week later, telling them I would like the matter resolved, otherwise I would have to take legal action. They responded back to me, telling me that my reservation was made - even though I called the resort the day prior and they had no booking on file for me; and they tell me no refunds are permitted with their business as agreed to on the credit card authorization form. How is this ethical in any type of business? I received nothing after paying these people. Somewhere down the line someone dropped the ball and they do not want to take fault for their actions.
