Sanyo Dual Waterproof Video Camera – Worst Ever

I purchased a Sanyo Dual Waterproof Video Camera (Model VPC-WH1)on the very first time that this camera was taken into the water it leaked. Even though all instructions and specifications were carefully followed the Camera allowed water to get in. After getting out of the water I carefully checked the three compartments which are user accessible, all were properly sealed...Yet water got in. When I sent it to the Authorized Repair facility (Skokie TV in Chicago) they claimed that the camera passed their Leak Test and claimed that the damage was caused by misuse. I was informed that they would not repair it under Warranty nor would they return the camera unless I sent them $13. When i asked the cost to have it repaired Skokie told me don't bother the cost would be more than the $400 purchase price. I then followed up with Sanyo Customer Service (which was anything but). After a month of calling them back repeatedly and promises that they would look into the issue and call me, no response. Finally they called back and said that they would do nothing regarding this camera. They would not even check the Camera themselves, simply said that whatever the Repair Facility said was what they would follow. You would think that if they were hearing from a consumer who is pointing out a defect in their product they would be interested if finding out what can be done to fix the issue, not so. They simply said that I must not be telling the truth about how the camera was used and that they would not do anything regarding repair or replacement, I would highly recommend that you stay away from this or any other Sanyo Product.
