My husband died in June of this year and I have been trying to get my mortgage paid off. Protective Life Ins. which holds the policy keeps asking Midland Mortg. to fill out certain forms so the claim can get paid. Midland refuses to do so and insists I fill out forms instead. Protective says no that Midland needs to fill out the forms as they will be the ones paid directly. They also need to know the pay off...both principal and interest at the time of my husbands death...June 26 and Midland won't even give them that. I am so disgusted. You would think they would want to get paid. I am still dealing with matters concerning my husbands death and this is just adding more stress to my grief.
