MY mistake for trying to donate my mattress to The Salvation Army instead of getting rid of it. Never again. They showed up around 9 this morning, didn't call me ahead of time like they were supposed to, the guys that showed up were incredibly rude. I had a mattress, box spring, and bedframe to be picked up. They guy takes one look at my mattress and says " you must not have read the policy, I can't take this." Literally wouldn't take ANYTHING because my mattress had a very light stain on it. Mind you, when I made the ticket online, it doesn't say a damn thing about how my "used mattress for donation for someone in need of it has to be in pristine condition." I had called and spoke to a supervisor after they left who told me "He can't control what information that is or isn't online, and that they only disinfect things, and if he had to pay for it to be cleaned he couldn't sell it in his store for much profit." Here I am thinking I'm DONATING something to someone in need, when all they care about is money. I promise you, anyone who is that much in need of a bed, would not care about a small stain that would come out with some bleach. Have y'all ever seen the stuff they sell in their stores?? Part of me thinks these two men who were older, and around a buck in weight each, just didn't want to carry everything down three flights of steps. With how much people are in need right now, and for people who work for an organization that is suppose to help other people, y'all aren't doing a very good job. They also did not have a problem letting me know they weren't donating anything, they were going to try to sell it at their store. User's recommendation: Stay away if your intentions are to help someone in need.
