Received a call from a spoofed number. Party calling asked for my husband. I stated I am his wife and he is unavailable. I asked who is calling. As if trying to break a world record for speed and unintelligibility, the party stated the name of the company (i think) and said that this call is being recorded but did not disclose why (e.g. for customer service purposes or this is an agency attempting to collect a debt, etc). The party asked for my home address. I said I do not disclose any personal information what-so-ever, especially not to an unsolicited caller whose company name was deliberately stated so I could not understand it, until I know exactly who is calling and why they need me personal information. The party said that she could not discuss anything further about the nature of why she needed to speak to my husband. I said that was perfectly fine. All I am asking is who this company is, the nature of their business (not their business with my husband but what this company does) and why they need my home address if they are not calling for me. I asked for the name of the company again. I repeated my request several times explaining each time that since she is choosing not to tell me what the company she works for does (other than spoof phone numbers and speak rudely to people they call), I am doing my own checking before I disclose any personal information. For a chance of pace, she then asked me for my first name. I said that also falls under the heading of personal information, which I will not provide until I know who I am speaking to and why. When it became apparent that I am being true to my word and will not provide personal information without knowing to whom I am speaking and why and that she could not intimidate me into acting otherwise, she ended the call abruptly.
