Roof damage

Bought a skyline home in 2004. About 2 yrs ago roof started leaking. Just had it looked at by private contractor and insurance adjuster. The shingles along the hinge were not installed properly and did not seal causing water to get under the shingles and leak into the ceiling. I am considering filing a lawsuit unless you can replace the roof. I have until Sept 1 2020 to gear from you.
