Ripped me off for $250

last summer, they cut my service off 2 days before my bill of $160 was even due and they then told me they need $250.00 to turn it back off. In looking intoi this company I called a company called Direct Energy and the customer service representative told me that they are with "Direct Energy Regulated Services" and "Direct Energy" is a "different business" I then asked "how is it that 2 separate companies happen to have the same name?" then he let me in that they are both owned by the same "Parent Company" but are separate companies. I then asked "where are you located?" because I am in Alberta and I would like to know who exactly is ripping us Albertans off and all he could tell me is that they are an "International company" that provides services around the world. I pressed him and he told me that that was all he could say about that and I should call thgis other number: 1-86*-203-****, I read it back to him and he said it was right...go ahead and cal this number and tell me what it is exactly because I have absolute;y no idea after calling it I pressed 1 and it did not respond so I tried 2 , then 3 then *, all of the opitons they gave me and all I got was a confusing message that repeated 3 times that hung up....there is something VERY FISHY about this compant and they seem to be trying to confuse people in order to hide whatever it is. SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT DIRECT ENERGY IS AND WHAT THEY DO PLEASE? apparently the one positive review on this site is fake.
