In 2009 I purchased a ZD18 zero turn with a 54" mower deck. The unit itself has been decent however maintenance and parts pricing is crazy. I purchased the unit in 2009 for $9,000.00 which was high at that time. The deck lasted only ten years even with excellent treatment. It was always cleaned without using any water that would cause rust. I recently called to purchase a mower deck (just the shell - no hardware) and was told that it would be $ 2,800.00 - $3,000.00. That is a third of the purchase price. While I may be able to afford a Kubota in the future I'm done mortgaging my home for parts and service. This new mower deck (shell) should be $1,400-$1,500.00 not twice that amount. T User's recommendation: Unless your willing to mortgage the left wing of your home for the sale price,maintenence and parts stay away from Kubota!
