Update by user Aug 01, 2018 By correcting some of their policies and adding some new ones for future families and patients. Update by user Aug 01, 2018 Vitas called today and some new policies are in place and some corrections to existing policies are in place and hopefully this will not happen in the future to another family. Original review posted by user Jul 27, 2018 July 2018. Social worker was asked to contact me, she was given my phone number, she finally got around to calling me 6 days later and an hour after my mother died. I sat in my mother's assisted living room from 7: 30 a. M. Until 11 a. M. And not one person cross that threshold from hospice. When she quit breathing I had to go out and find a nurse and a stethoscope to actually verify that she had passed and it sure wasn't from hospice.
