Resolved: What Exactly is AON Definition of Travel Delay?
2
Update by user Sep 17, 2019 09/17/19 After AON management review of my claim for the omitted $12.84 lunch on my delay day, a check has been received for the amount. Original review posted by user Sep 11, 2019 I had a trip delay post a return from a cruise in Miami on 07/13/19 to 07/14/19 due to Hurricane Barry which prevented all airlines from travel into New Orleans on 07/13/19. We were rescheduled on a flight on 07/14/19 @ 10:45pm. A trip delay claim was processed by AON submitting all receipts and info for 07/13-07/14/19. My claim was settled except for $12.84 Subway meal on 07/14/19 @ 12noon after we checked out from the hotel next door. Today I phoned speaking w/ Josh Canizares whom stated my request for reimbursement of $12.84 for a Subway meal was not covered because it’s outside of my “ORIGINAL travel date which ended on 07/13/19.” I am being told that the DELAY day of 07/14/19 meal is not covered by the AON definition of delay. This makes no sense. The delay day was actually 07/14/19 which included the hotel stay and 2 meals we ate before our 10:45pm flight. Why? How does this $12.84 not fall into coverage since we purchased the AON Insurance for the purpose of an emergency? “This travel insurance coverage provides reimbursement for additional meal and hotel expenses incurred when a trip’s departure or return is delayed for a covered reason.” He says he must speak with a manager to know if it falls into the delay day….Priceline recommended this company-Never again!
