Resolved: Over promised and under delivered

Update by user Jan 29, 2019 pissedconsumer is a scam site, please don't use Original review posted by user Jan 25, 2019 Fail. Over promised and under delivered on my roofing project. Valentine bid to replace my roof and skylights all at the same time. They also wrote into their contract that they would install cricket on my chimney, as there were some water issues with the existing roof. The crew sent to work on my roof was pretty good, but they took 7 days when they had estimated 4-5 days to complete project (I was up front with them with it being a tricky roof). I did have to go out and buy 8 2x6 fascia board to replace some that were dry roted and Valentine want to replace. Every day of the project they promised they needed to figure out how to do the cricket, which was written into the contract to fix chimney water issues. Every day, till the last day of the project when they told me adding the cricket was impossible. WTF?, You guys specifically wrote the cricket into the contract. Other than having the roofing re-done, the cricket was the most important part of project. You guys are the roofing experts, I don’t know why you wrote it into contract if you don’t know how to make one. On the last day, Valentine also told me I needed to get a mason to move the counter flashing up seven inches. Well, why didn’t you tell me that before the last day? I got a bill on the last day they worked on roof. I notified them the chimney and cricket were not done and I’m not paying the other 2/3 till these issues get resolved. Skylights show up a month later and none of them fit. Like off by 3-4 inches each way. Another month wait and they finally get them right. I’m totally cool wit that, things happen. Bottom line is the roof and skylights are leaking into the ceiling and Sheetrock. No cricket as written in the contract. Something totally lost in translation with the chimney flashing. Valentine considers their job down and I have a leaky roof and a ceiling that is water logged. As we could not resolve this, Valentine turned me over to the lawyers. They were nice enough let me deduct $100 for their failure to install cricket, which is now causing the chimney to leak.
