Resolved: Dissatisfied with delivery date of order

Update by user Oct 14, 2020 received an apology and offer of some sort of compensation once issue has been resolved, whenever that might be.. Update by user Oct 14, 2020 I received email from customer service at Benson for Beds apologizing for delivery issues. It has been explained to me that due to Covid19 suppliers are experiencing difficulty getting supplies needed to fill orders and that unfortunately a new delivery date cannot be provided at this time. I have been offered some compensation (no specifics were supplied) once this issue has been resolved.I suggested to customer service that they advise customers that delivery dates may not be met due to supplier issues especially since they are now offering 50% off certain items on telly. Explained that they should be honest with customers regarding delivery issues so that more customers are not left in same frustrated position as my husband and myself are.I can only suggest to any future customers to discuss delivery issues with this company before committing to an order as we have been waiting since early September and now have no delivery date provided.I am going to consider this issue closed at this time since it is now a waiting game for delivery and compensation. Original review posted by user Sep 28, 2020 On July 9th, 2020 my husband and I ordered an Ottoman bed, headboard and mattress from the Inverness store. We were told it would take 6-7 weeks for delivery but it could come sooner. Delivery date was set for September 17th but received a call September 15th from delivery chap indicating nothing had been delivered to the warehouse as the bed was 'out of stock'. He indicated the headboard and mattress were available, just not the bed! Have called the Inverness store twice now seeking update on delivery date, last date I was given was January 2021!!! This is totally unacceptable especially since everything was paid for on the date it was ordered. I find it hard to believe that in ALL of Scotland the bed that we ordered is not available??? Could someone kindly investigate and advise as we do not wish to cancel as we really want/need this new bed as both my husband and I have back problems. Thanks kindly.
