Resolved: 2 bad service calls

5

Update by user Oct 15, 2019 After a few phone calls, I was finally able to reach someone who had authority to make corrections. Based on my details, the trip charges were reversed and not counted as road side assistance. The companies who were called to assist were going to be addressed individually by AAA. Original review posted by user Sep 11, 2019 Had to have servicing on my truck. I paid for the repairs earlier in the day and went back after hours to pick it up. I didn't bring a debit card (didn't think I would need it). The tank had a 1/4 gas in it when I left it at the shop. However, when I got to my truck, the low gas light came on. I thought surely they left me some gas and started my way home. They ran it all out and didn't inform me (separate complaint I filed on them). So, when I attempt ride home, I run out of gas on a busy road at night and no money. I do have AAA, so I called for service. They promised a tech in one hour. After an hour, no one had shown up nor had I received any text updates. I tried calling AAA, but there was a 10 mins wait and I had low battery on my phone. A cop pulls up behind me and buys me gas to get home. I never received any follow up for this service call. I call AAA to complain. They only apologize--nothing else. Couple of weeks later, I call for battery jump on my car. The agent says this is the last of my 4 roadside assistance calls. Ii asked if my last call for out of gas was still counted against me. She confirmed yes it was. I stated I wanted it reversed and she was not authorized to do so and I will have to call back for a supervisor. Guy shows up, says it will cost me battery and extra 35.00 due to the extra labor involved (my battery is in an odd spot and other parts have to be removed to access it). I agreed. He puts the jump box on the battery and says it's not the battery, it's the starter and leaves. I tow my car to the shop. They run test and discover it is the battery after all. Cost of over 200.00. I emailed a complaint to AAA this time about both events. I only received a form letter reply, not addressing any complaint, and hoping I will remain a loyal customer! Are you kidding me??
