Rental House

The Museum is very interesting, but it is run by a board of about 7 women in their 60+ years old who are very set and opinionated in their own ways. They do many activities for senior citizens, but not for families in many avenues. I personally dealt with them for over two and a half years, they like things given to them and still believe in living in the past and society should cater to them. I have rented a house that is owned by the museum and the home I rent is built in the 1800's, and has many items that have been unsafe and not in good living conditions by the water failing three years in a row, their has been oil spill from the ground for six months and still there, the fireplace chimney was corrupt, and the old furnace instead of being replaced, was tempted to be repaired and never did, causing MANY times without heat and smoke in the house . Being a single mom, with young children, it is a big red flag. As a renter, I have to deal with the museum board when they feel that I should do what they say, when, how, and where, when in reality, in the past, I had an open door policy, now I haven been taken advantage of too many time to count by me being understanding, giving, and thoughtful. Again, the museum is very interesting, but not community-friendly.
