I received a call from my son who was transferred to a work release facility this morning, we live in Washington State. I was shocked to find out that the 3 minute collect call I accepted and put on my debit card was $15.74. They give you no rates of how much it is going to cost and gave no specifics on how to set anything up. You can't tell me that it costs that much to process a phone call. I called and was told that depending on the location a connection cost could be up to $49.99. Are you kidding me? That is absolutely the mose ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Can you say PRICE GOUGING. The prison systems need to get together and use one service for their inmate communications. I understand they are the ones that put themselves there but families should not be forced to not being able to accept phone calls due to the exurbanite costs. Pathetic!
