Received horrible service and bank is holding my funds

1

Hello, On Thursday 8/13 I deposited money orders into my account after being told by the teller that the funds from them would be available in 24hours . I purchased them the same day due to moving Into a new apartment complex that day but the complex no longer accepts money orders and I was told by the place that I received them from (QT) that I would have to wait 3 days to cash them so I thought depositing them in my account would be a better option . The next day I saw on my account that they were successfully deposited but were not “available” . I go back up to the retail branch that I deposited them at ( E Crossville Rd 30075 ) and was told the back office put a hold on them and to call to get the hold removed . I then called the fraud department and the first gentleman I spoke with (Justin) was completely rude and did not show any empathy towards the situation as I was explaining it . He simply told me that “the money orders looked suspicious” and that I need to go to a branch and show “proof” that they are authentic. He continued to cut me off after trying to tell him the situation at hand but I could barely get a word out . He told me I would have to wait until the 24th , which is not an option for me due to me having to move in a new apartment. I then called back after feeling profiled by your fraud employee Justin and talked to a man who seemed a lot nicer and told me to go to a branch to try to get the hold removed and to bring my receipts so they can see that they are real . I then go to the branch in Atlanta ,Ga (vinings) and talk to the manager there . He proceeds to tell me after 10 years of being in banking he’s never heard of QT issuing money orders and that they deal with fraud often . So again I felt profiled . Was it because I was a black woman with 8 money orders that equaled up to $2100 that it seemed “suspicious” ? I provided the manager with my stubs from each money order and he made copies of them . He then told me he was going to ask someone about what to do , then he says that someone from another department said that “they will not be honored” . Which is confusing to me because they are REAL money orders and as a bank your supposed to call and verify that . But instead the manager told ME to call the number on the back of the money order stubs to tell western union to send you guys a letter stating that the money orders are indeed real . But due to this being an emergency situation for me I called the number . Customer service western union told me that the bank is supposed to call and verify funds (something I already knew ) so I called the manager back at the vinings location and told him what they said and he acted confused as if he didn’t know what to do next . He then told me he wasn’t sure if he could call them being that’s not something that they do . Again , confusing . I then call back the retail branch I deposited the orders at and the young man Anthony who deposited them told me he verified all money orders shorty after they were deposited . So now after speaking to numerous people who don’t seem to know what they are doing i am reaching out via email to hopefully get some better assistance and of this doesn’t help I will make sure I will post my unfortunate experience with all that will listen . I would like either my money orders back or my deposit to be cleared ASAP !
