Quality of springs no good any more!
1
For 45 years I have dealt with the simple pull down roller shades replacing them periodically from daily wear & tear due to the bottom eventually tearing where the hem is attached to the pocket & that was expected but I recently replace 2 & find the springs in the rollers are no good anymore, ever other day I cannot get them to stay down, they spring up on their own & fly off the brackets causing damage to my window sills with wood gouged out. I am daily having to rewind the springs & rehanging them, with fear of them flying back off again. I think they are actually hazardous! I have used them for my whole adult life but the spring device in them now is a joke! I will be trashing the 2 new ones & when the others in my home need replacing it won’t be any more levolor blinds for my windows! Right now I have repairs to make on the wooden sills due to the blind flying off & turning point or spring first into the sills & busting holes in the wood, it will take me hours to repair them!
