Google your name. If you have done any real estate transaction, like buying or selling, getting permits for refurb, or refinancing, your name, home address, the names of all of your relatives, your age, your previous addresses, everything including photos of your house will pop up on Google. Blockshopper.com publishes all of that information and it pops right up in Google. They hide behind the fact that it's public information. That information, however, has to be sought out and found in your County records. It's not easy, and your County records do not appear in Google when you put in your name. Once Blockshopper publishes it, anyone can find exactly where you live and everything about you and your family. Blockshopper.com refuses to take the listing off their website. They were successfully sued by a big law firm, but they calculate that the average Joe won't go to the trouble to sue them. The only way to stop them is to bring this to the attention of your Congressperson. If you don't like it, send your Congressperson a note.
