Protect pla

I have the ring spot lite camera on my garage. This camera was a house-warming gift from a friend who was renting my in law house. He also had one for him, so he set it all up in his name and shared it to me. Unfortunately he passed away, so I am unable to add the plan for my camera. What can I do?
