Price Gouging + Poor Service.

I recently started exploring playing Warhammer 40k with a few friends. I quickly learned that the company cares very little for its customer base as they have a monopoly on Warhammer retail products. They get a two out of five, quality being the only upside. My Short List is as Follows: -Extremely high prices. -Extremely low quantity for the price(paint) -Better quality products at a substantially lower price from competitors. -Poor untimely Delivery of Products. -Anti-consumer business practices. The quality of the models are there and I have disposable income so I decided I would give warhammer 40k a shot. After researching I learned that the 100$ starter game does not come with the necessarily tools and paints to actually complete the models much less start building them. What they neglect to mention is that the starter paints and manual on how to paint cost you an additional 110$. So I went online and researched how professional warhammer painters get by and it turns out most use other brands that have a higher quality and lower price. I payed 50$ (including shipping) and got a better price and higher quality from a competitor. The pro youtube videos taught me a lot about quality painting as well. I couldn't however get the models cheaper because games workshop has an online monopoly. However I said that's ok as I get free shipping which will help offset some of the costs. My piecemealed paint and tool kit came within the week from 6 different suppliers. Three of those suppliers gave me free shipping, I am still waiting for my models from game workshop three weeks latter. I hear other people have the same problem and they tell them you should have paid extra for shipping. It will cost me a grand total of over 300$ to actually get my foot in the door. Thats excluding a gameboard to play on. I can't wait until home 3D printing kills their prices. Until then were all screwed if we want to actually play the game, games workshop is fine with that as they have inferred in the past.
