Original review updated by user Feb 17, 2021 Superior Propane is using mis-leading information to charge customers additional fees for inspections. They insist on a "government mandated inspection" and claim it's a "shared cost" between the customer and SP. As they explained, the cost is $499.00, but you only have to pay $150.00. No other propane company insists on, nor charges for a "government mandated inspection". Which begs the question: If the government mandates propane companies inspect residential equipment, why do no other propane companies do it? Answer: Because they don't have to, that's why. Yes, other companies do inspections (expiry dates on the tanks, etc.), but they certainly don't charge for it. It should also be noted that - in order to facilitate the inspection - the technician has to come into the home to inspect every piece of equipment using propane. One word for you: COVID19. In effect, Superior is charging customers $150.00 to put them at risk for COVID19....for an inspection that's not required in the first place. In fact, I have had new tanks installed from another provider with no inspection of equipment at all. I was told by the tech that it's not required. I told him about Superior.....and he just shrugged his shoulders and said: "Yeah.....that's Superior. Total scam" I'm cancelling our service. They now want to charge $250.00. No other propane company charges to remove their own equipment (tanks). My complaint? Superior is mis-leading customers and this is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. I want a refund for any/all inspections charged for in the past and further, no charges to have their tanks taken off my property. User's recommendation: Avoid Superior like you would COVID19.
