The mover arrived with a truck that was too small and no crew. He loaded the truck by himself, requiring my assistance to move a couple of the larger items. The lading was careless and there was damage to my stuff beyond normal wear and tear due to moving. He also had to abandon several items at my old house because the truck was not large enough. Finally, he required me to sign for additional packing charges before he would start to load the truck. Although the charges were itemized, I never received a copy of the itemized list. I do know that ultimately he only packed two boxes, and i recall the packing add charges was for more like thirty boxes. He arrived late at the destination, with an inadequate crew, and the crew was only there for 2 hours. I own an upright piano which had been documented as part of the move from the start. There was an additional charge for it on the manifest, to which I had agreed. However, due to inadequate crew, he was unable to put the piano in the house, and had to leave it in the garage. I had to hire piano movers for an additional $475 to get it moved inside. I have been trying to contact American Van Lines for the last week to get some resolution to this, but i only get voicemail, and they are not returning my calls.
