Poor service over serving alcohol to drunks

My family, some family friends and I dined at the Mountain Barn this evening to celebrate my birthday... I was more disappointed than I have ever been in a restaurant. Several tables were excessively loud and were being over-served alcohol. They were very obviously drunk and their waitress kept serving them. It was negligent and the people were confrontational with other tables. The waitress we had was also serving the table of drunks, and while she kept bringing their drinks out every 15 minutes, she had to be asked more than three times to refill one of our fellow diners coffee. We all know the tips on a large amount of alcohol are more than on coffee! I also agree with the other reviewer who was expressing how unhappy they were about being charged several times for refills on drinks. That is pathetic. Is the business in that bad a condition? I will never patronize your restaurant again!!! The behavior of the waitress and the clientele was disgusting. It used to be a decent place, now there are so many better choices. You need to train your waitresses and bartenders to be better. also, should the man who was drunk, laughing like a hyena, celebrating his 40th birthday with his two buddies and the three *** read this, you should be ashamed of yourself. Threatening my father, two senior citizens, complaining that your party was ruined... I hope you aren't allowed out of your cage again and maybe in your forties you will learn some manners. After posting a more refined version of this on their fb page the owners response was: Jennifer: I apologize that you experience at the Mountain Barn was not a positive one. A gentleman in your party did approach me about the party of six you are referring to. I did explain to him that our back dining room does tend to get loud but that I would check to make sure that their waitress was tending to them properly. After speaking to her I found that each person at that table was on their second drink and that they were celebrating a 40th birthday. I went to their table myself to check on them and they were very polite and definitely not over served. Some of our patrons prefer not to sit in the back dining room as there tends to be a lot of large parties on the weekends. When the party you are referring to went to leave and your table clapped that is when the confrontation started. I apologize again that you were unhappy but our staff is trained very well and we take alcohol awareness very seriously. If you would like to speak me please call the restaurant. Mindy Zottoli, Proprieto What ever happened to making sure the customer is comfortable and always right? I guess you need to be a drunk lush at this place! Don't go here!!! My response to her was as follows: Mindy, I would very much disagree with you... They were very drunk. I sat next to them for over two hours. I know drunk when I see it. And just because your waitress "said" she had served them only two drinks does not mean they didn't have four more at the bar while they were waiting for their table. And seven more before they arrived at your establishment. If a person seems inebriated... and they clearly were they should not be served. The waitress was not great at getting refills on coffee or our tables drink. Since it was my birthday I also ordered two drinks as you claim the men at the next table had and and I was not acting like a five year old. I am just very disappointed in a restaurant that would keep giving alcohol to men that were clearly inebriated. If you are very sure they were not, then I wouldn't want 40 year olds in my restaurant who would swear at other customers, especially senior citizens. They were also kind enough to tell my father *** you" and "*** me". I live quite close to Princeton and have several friends in the town. I am afraid I will not be back again EVER. If one of those men had gotten into their cars and gotten into an accident your establishment would be responsible. There are just so many better choices in the area, and I am disappointed. Next time someone wants to go to your place of business I will steer them away and explain exactly why. The members of my party tried speaking with you and all they got was threatened by your "not drunk customers". Good luck if that is the clientele you wish to keep. You just lost six people, plus any future business with anyone I know who would want to go.
