This year we stayed at the Custer KOA twice and the Estes Park KOA once. Our experience thus far is that the reservation system does not work at all. Our first stay at Custer KOA on Memorial Weekend was quite due to COVID19. Upon arrival the office managers saw that we did reserve a 'Full Hook Up" spot online. But, the park managers put us where they wanted to. They did change us to a full hook up - the park was largely empty. I was told that I need to call ahead to assure I had my preferred hookups/spot. "Noted" I called the Estes Park Office and spoke with them about my reservation preferences for pre-Labor Day reservations. When I got there we were not in the spot previously reserved. They admitted to the error by one of their staff. Understandable, I guess, and they were extremely hospitable. From Estes we went back to Custer since I had called ahead and reserved a full hook up spot e liked. Upon arrival this reservation was change to water and electric only. Here is where I throw the BS flag. KOA is a joke since there is no consistency in operations. You can call ahead but it does not guarantee anything. I am very disappointed with KOA period and will not be renewing my "KOA Value Membership" what a joke. User's recommendation: Both KOA's admitted to the error upon arrival. Custer did nothing on our second stay and I did not push the discrepancy any further. I do not trust the "Managers" or Owners of KOA.
