Poor quality with cleaning cartridges
The quality of the cleaning cartridges has drastically decreased since I purchased my first cat genie in 2012. I purchased a multi pack of the cartridges in 2017. Only one of the seven cartridges would operate in the cat genie and the company only agreed to replace two of the cartridges. It was very disappointing to throw $200 of full/unused cartridges in the trash. Since 2017, I have had several cartridges that could not be read by the cat genie. Please note: I purchased a new cat genie in 2017 because I was told the problem was with my machine. I don't think that was accurate. Most recently, I purchased a two pack of cartridges in September, 2018 and today only one of the cartridges will function in the machine. I called customer service and Nicholas wanted to walk me through removing the cartridge, waiting 2 minutes, and reinserting it (liked I'm a do-do) to make sure the cartridge is faulty. Of course, you can't call and get a CSR at the time of the call. You always have to leave a message and when they return the call you must be at the cat genie machine or they refuse to help you. I like the features and functionality of the cat genie machine. The company should warranty their products and be more customer centered. It is not less expensive to own and operate a cat genie. It is VERY frustrating to train your cat to use this box and then have to switch to a traditional litter box temporarily, because the supplies are not reliable. QUALITY CONTROL -- learn about it, implement it, and take care of your customers!
