Update by user Sep 02, 2018 in the end it was not depth of the mag well but lack of inletting for a locating tab for the mag body. stockys and i have resolved our issues Update by user Aug 24, 2018 now we add to the list of things that do not fit. i inlet the stock for the trigger guard, and fabricated new action screws. when i went to check that the screws did not interfere with the bolt, the bolt will not go forward . why ? because the mag well cut out is not deep enough and the mag is setting 0.05/0.06 high and stopping the bolt. just one more item they fail to mention. i am sure they will have another excuse. THEY HAVE OFFERED THE $50 REDUCTION I ASKED FOR. i will take it and move on. Original review posted by user Aug 03, 2018 i have a savage 12 and bought a stock from stocky's to replace the original tupperware almost stock. 1) the trigger guard does not fit and it is known by stockys yet they make no mention of the issue in the application. you have to buy a new trigger guard or modify yours. 2) trigger guard does not fit in opening (separate issue). the profile of the od of the trigger guard does not fit in the stock opening. not close. you have to finish inletting the opening to get it to fit. another issue not mentioned in the description. 3) it appears neither front nor rear screw holes are set deep enough. i get only TWO threads of engagement on the front action screw, and the rear "appears" to be close to the same. ( i cannot tell for sure see (1) above). 4) the bbl channel has contact with the bbl so MORE inletting will have to be done to provide a true free floated bbl. this stock should be priced more like a boyds basic stock. at least, my boyds fit.
