Please read the email below I sent to Panasonic.

I own a Panasonic Viera plasma TV # TC-P42X5, it’s now about 4 years old. Since new every time there is a power outage regardless of the length of time the TV won’t turn back on. This has happened to me probably close to a dozen times since I purchased this unit. I bought Panasonic because of your reputation with Plasma TV’s. I called your service department and explained my issue and was told they can’t do anything about it and I should consider buying a new unit, at that time it was about six months out of a one year warranty.……………Outrageous response! It takes 2-3 days for it to come back on using one of the described procedures on the web. Pressing, holding buttons, unplugging and then plugging it back in are part of the frustrating process to try and get the set to come back on. Not exactly what I expected from Panasonic. The TV is an excellent unit when it’s operating but when it’s out of commission for possibly several days it makes it an unacceptable and unreliable product. I need a TV that works all the time, doesn’t have a mind of its own. I don’t want to have to worry about the next power outage or wonder if I unplug it to move to a new location all the time wondering if it will come back on. Judging by all of the comments on the web I’m one of many many customers who have the same or similar issues with some of your TV products. You have successfully upset and probably alienated all of us owners due to a lack of response on you part to resolve this issue. Sincerely a very unhappy and disappointed customer.
