Pier 1 will not accept my $50.00 gift card. They will not answer phone calls or online chats. You cannot even email or text them.

Update by user Aug 20, 2020 Pier 1 is impossible! I finally received an email from them, but they flatly refused to compensate me in any way. They said that since they filed for bankruptcy, they were unable to do anything. At this point, they really couldn't care. They are out of business and it doesn't concern them one bit how many people they screwed. I only lost $50.00, but I bet there are hundreds of people who lost a lot more than I did. It was wrong the way they dealt with their bankruptcy. I never heard anything about it until it was too late. I was a subscriber, but never received an email from them announcing that they were closing. By the time I found out, which was by accident, my gift card wasn't good anymore. They hurt lots of loyal customers who shopped their stores. I was one of them. Now when I look around my home and see all of the items I bought from them over the last 30 years, it really hurts! However, they will not accept any gift cards. However, when I got through to the gift card department, they said I have to deal with Customer Relations. They said that this department will reimburse me for my gift card, but I am dubious about that. I tried calling, texting, and doing an online chat, but no one is available. An automated voice said there is a 2 hour wait to talk to someone from Customer Relations (HUH???). I even tried to call their corporate office, but no one will call me back. I bet I spent over two hours trying to reach them, but then I gave up. They really do not want to talk to anyone or deal with complaints.Their only aim is to sell out what is left in their stores. I guess I am out of luck; My $50.00 gift card isn't worth anything. This is the WORST company! How can they do this to customers whom have shopped in their stores for many years! User's recommendation: Don't even bother trying to contact them. You will be wasting your time.
