Phony profiles, planted subscribers, commercial tricks.

1.In my personal observation and research, this outfit and their affiliates are likely plagued by FRAUD. Collects hefty fees up front and make people believe that they will have access to hundreds of thousands if not millions of real people seeking marriage, friendship, companionship, etc. plus, additional traps for more money along the way. Moreover, they plant minimum wage caliber "lawyers" and other observers into their pool, making sure that that their scheme is not uncovered, and if so not spread. These planted profiles, many of them, called “floaters”, get posted at various age categories, further increase the already phony profile inventory, respond to unsuspecting paying members, play along as if they were genuine members, solicit information, and if they receive any word from a member that might point to uncovering or spreading the “Match.com scheme”, they report it to management, and the unsuspecting member receives out of the blue a termination notice for “violating the terms of agreement”. No further explanation available, and no moneys are refunded, unless you sue. All under the cover of privacy and confidentiality. MATCH.COM AND A FEW OTHER SITES ARE OPERATED BY PEOPLES MEDIA, INC. 2.It starts with something like "FREE - find millions of singles looking for you - FREE". They collect your info, but at the end of the FREE signup process you benefit little or nothing until you "subscribe", i.e. buy into their fraudulent tricks. You cannot communicate for free, but ... NOTE!! ... now they have your PROFILE. You gave it to them, and can’t take it back or out of their system at that stage – unless you pay. It's essentially the profiles they merchandise, sell, promise, use for temptation, and for enticing people. Note again, you haven't signed up yet, but they already have your profile, and even if you do not want to subscribe, you cannot withdraw your information. It's all out there, sold, marketed, viewed, as if you were already a member. Of course, other subscribing legit members won't get a response from you because you are not in the system – only your profile is. But they do not know that. Legitimate members cannot tell whether they contacted a phantom profile with no valid member behind it, or one that is legit. All they know is that they do not get answer. They won’t know whether the other person is not interested, or that there is no other person in the first place because they ran into one of the millions of phantom profiles on Match.com. 3.Phantom profiles “for show only” are also generated when legit members' subscription expire, or they quit. Those folks are out. But their PROFILE stays, continues to get merchandised, viewed, and offered for view. Those seeking responses from these will not get any because the folks they are "viewing" are gone. Again, members in good faith have no way of knowing what’s going on. All they know is that they get no response, and often end up blaming themselves, harming their self-esteem. Match.com could not care less about that. This is a business where you can merchandise and sell goods that do not legitimately exist, in fact may have never existed. 4.The matter received a lot of attention. It has also been reviewed on the media, ABC, for one, having reported an “F” rating at the Better Business Bureau for Match.com. 5.The Internet is replete with complaints from Match.com, OPERATED BY PEOPLES MEDIA, victims. 6.It is a fair bet that at any time 80% or so of profiles on their site are phony, planted, made up, belong to people no longer on site, belong to people who never did get on their site, or unauthentic otherwise. Consequently, they constitute fraud when represented to unsuspecting paying members as potential companions. PROTECT YOUR MONEY. PROTECT YOUR DREAM. SUSPECT NO ANSWERS. SUSPECT ANSWERS AS TO SOURCE.
